About Taylor

There’s something profoundly sacred about sitting with people in a vulnerable part of their lives. I didn’t always know I would become a therapist, but looking back, it makes sense. I’ve always been drawn to the deeper layers of people’s stories—the unspoken tensions in relationships, the quiet ache of disconnection, and the universal longing to be truly seen and known.

Mission

Shine Family Therapy was created from a place of both deep understanding and compassion. I am committed to holding space for people in their vulnerabilities with care, respect, and without judgment. Here, there is nothing you can say that will change your inherent worth or the love and respect I bring to our work together. It is my mission for you to be seen, known, understood and cared for exactly for who you are the moment I meet you.

Approach

Whether we are doing individual or relational therapy together, my approach is authentic and down-to-earth. I believe we’re shaped in relationship—and that we also heal in relationship. As a systemic therapist, I care deeply about your story and pay close attention to the systems you’re a part of—family, culture, faith, community—and how those experiences shape the way you love, cope, and connect.

I use a variety of therapy models to fit the needs of each of my clients. These include, but not limited to: emotionally focused therapy, attachment based family therapy, internal family systems therapy, structural family therapy, experiential therapy, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. Within each model, I am trained to understand and utilize a trauma informed approach.

Professional History

With over seven years of experience as a therapist, I’ve worked in both agency and private practice settings, supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of challenges. My background includes walking alongside people navigating anxiety, depression, relational struggles, life transitions, and the lasting impact of trauma. I have extensive experience working with teenagers, and take particular interest in this demographic.

In every setting, I carry confidence in the people I work with and their capacity for growth. My extensive training in systems theory equips me to sit in some of the most difficult relational conflicts/life circumstances and guide clients toward healthy ways forward.

Faith

My faith in Jesus is the foundation of who I am and how I approach this work. It’s where I find hope, purpose, and the belief that light can always break through even in the darkest places. If you would like your faith to be central to the work we do together, I am happy to counsel from a biblical perspective. That said, I work with people from all faiths, beliefs, and walks of life. You are welcome here exactly as you are.

If you are interested in learning more about my faith, I would love to talk with you, or you can learn more here
